My One-A-Day Summer!

Do you ever feel like this enormous, invisible, highly irritable and irrational time thief has wreaked havoc throughout entire months of your life??? I mean.. where in the world does the time go? Maybe my time thief is my little one… Although, if that’s the case, then it is 1000000 times worth it…. But in all seriousness, it goes by SO quickly and sometimes I don’t feel like I even have time to breathe! The school year has been over for me for a few weeks now, but I am just now getting my life back on track. Why is it that I seem to make such great progress over winter break and summer break, but then once things start up again, it all just dissipates? I’m pretty sure it’s that temperamental, troglodyte of a time thief… I am without a doubt his number one victim… But I just keep thinking… if I can turn these goals into habits, then maybe, just maybe, I will be able to reach more of my goals.

Don’t get me wrong, I have been able to do some really cool, really gratifying things this year! (Hello PUBLISHED book #1 and book #2 and #3 super in the works!) But I still have a lot of work to do on my home goals, my eating habits, and my health goals. I have ben reading this book called Target 100. And I love the philosophy throughout the book as well as the idea of just one number for everything. And while I haven’t finished the book yet, I have decided that one of the most important things I need to do this summer is to simplify my own life and work on building habits that will support a healthier lifestyle for myself and for my family. I need to stop checking my email a million times a day and I need to work on being more present for everything. I need to write goals that are easy to follow, remember, and that will make my life genuinely better.

So… today, on the 1st of June, I have decided that this will be my One a Day Summer! I will only allow myself to check email and social media once a day (Why is this so difficult?!?!). I will make sure I do some kind of physical exercise once a day and that I drink a full glass of water before a meal at least once a day. I will make my bed once a day and put things back where they belong at least once a day. I will make my to-do list once in the morning and stick to it! Oh, and I will absolutely write at least once a day. Even if it is just one sentence!

Okay, wish me luck! I know I can do this!!!
