Our Family
Two Professors and a Wild Toddler
The most important thing you might need to know about me is that I am a mama who (like so many of you) has done everything I could to set my child up for a happy, healthy, and beautiful life. My son is the light of my life, and I have genuinely enjoyed nearly every moment of this new family life we have created.
It is important to know that I am by no means a medical professional, but I do have a PhD in Music Education. Whether it is potty training or family music lessons, nearly all of my work and philosophy with my son stems directly from education research and personal teaching experiences. I gave up a tenure track professorship to become a (mostly) stay at home mama and I have not regretted it, not once.

My husband also has a PhD (his is in personal financial planning) and he teaches at Georgetown University. He is fully supportive of our family setup and is proud that we deliberately chose to keep him out of daycare and at home with us until it is time for school.

This blog serves as a place for me to share all of the crazy moments in this life, to vent about the rough moments, and to provide any helpful hints for other families making it work.

Sending you wishes for those sloppy open mouth kisses, the running embraces, and allllll the toddler antics!
